  • It's "Drawer Boy" as in "the one who draws." In this multi-award-winning play, it's 1971, and two aging farmers encounter an eager young actor whose theater collective is writing play about farming. One farmer is stern and curmudgeonly; the other's war injury has cost him his memory. They share secrets from the boy and from each other. A funny, surprising, and infinitely moving piece--see the Austin Chronicle's recent rave.

The Drawer Boy features Brad Carlin, David Jones, and Michael Stuart and is directed by Ken Webster. The design team includes Carlin (light design), Diane Morrison (costumes), and Paul Davis (sets).

The show runs at 8pm on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, May 27 through June 19. Every Thursday is Pay What You Can night; Friday and Saturday tickets are $16 ($14 for students, seniors, and ACOT members). Hyde Park Theatre is located at 511 W. 43rd Street. For reservations call 479-PLAY (7529).
